This policy explains what personal information Awesome Foods collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to the Botswana Data Protection Act.

Awesome Foods, a company of Cabanga Africa (Pty) Ltd, of Gaborone, Botswana, is the data controller for information collected through this site. What we collect
- Information you send us directly through the contact form: your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Information you send us by WhatsApp, phone or email, including any business details you give when making a trade enquiry.
- Basic technical information your browser provides, used only to keep the site working. no analytics or advertising trackers are in use on this site
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To answer your question or trade enquiry. Legal basis: your consent, given when you send us the message.
- To trace a product batch when you report a problem with a pack. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in product safety and quality.
- To keep records of trade relationships and orders. Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legal record-keeping obligations.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request. This site runs no analytics package, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking cookie. The only external resource it loads is the Google Fonts service, which supplies the typefaces used on the page.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, such as our hosting and email providers, and only as far as needed to do that work. How long we keep it
Enquiry messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to meet our record-keeping obligations, then deleted. Trade account records are kept for seven years where the record has a tax or accounting purpose, and no longer than is necessary for the purpose it was collected for in every other case.
Your rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
- Object to how we are using your information, or withdraw consent you gave earlier.
- Complain to the Information and Data Protection Commission of Botswana if you are not satisfied with our response.

Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will publish the updated version here and change the date below.
